Grade passback

Also known as grade passback · grade pass-back · score passback · gradebook sync

Grade passback is the automatic return of a learner's score from an external tool or course package into the LMS gradebook, so nobody re-enters marks.

In LTI 1.3 it is handled by Assignment and Grade Services, which let a tool create gradebook columns and post scores; LTI 1.1 used a simpler outcomes service. A SCORM package reports a score that the LMS then records, and xAPI or cmi5 results can be mapped to the gradebook in a similar way.

In Node XR, Data Mode auto-marks each attempt and pushes the result to your LMS gradebook via xAPI or SCORM.
