VLE (virtual learning environment)

Also known as virtual learning environment · virtual learning environments

A virtual learning environment (VLE) is the online platform a school, college or university uses to organise courses, share materials, set work and record marks.

VLE is the usual UK education term for what corporate teams call an LMS. Moodle, Canvas and Blackboard are widely used in UK further and higher education, and central IT normally controls which external tools may connect to them.

For immersive content the practical questions are whether it launches from the VLE and whether marks come back. For universities, Node XR's answer is LTI 1.3 launch into Canvas, Blackboard or Moodle.
