Vocational training

Training focused on the practical skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for a particular job or trade, such as construction, hairdressing, engineering or care.
In the UK it is delivered by colleges, independent training providers and employers, through apprenticeships, T Levels in England and qualifications such as BTECs and NVQs. Assessment usually centres on showing competence in realistic conditions rather than only recalling knowledge.
That creates a practical problem: learners need to practise in workplaces before they are safe to be there. Node XR's FE page lists site inductions, salon safety and workshop safety among the uses colleges deploy.
