Apprenticeship
Also known as apprentice · apprenticeship standard · apprenticeship programme · degree apprenticeship
A paid job with structured training, in which the apprentice learns on the job and through off-the-job training towards an approved occupational standard or framework.
Apprenticeships run from intermediate level to degree level. In England they are built on employer-designed standards and end with an independent end-point assessment, while Wales has its own apprenticeship programme and frameworks.
Apprentices often need to learn hazards before they can safely work unsupervised. ACT Training Wales apprentices practise spotting every hazard in a 360° salon in Node XR before stepping into a real one.
