360° video
Also known as 360 video · 360-degree video · spherical video
Video recorded in every direction at once, so the viewer chooses where to look while the footage plays around them.
Most 360° video is monoscopic and stored as 2:1 equirectangular frames. Because the pixels are spread around the whole sphere, only a fraction is in view at any moment, so 4K 360° footage looks noticeably softer in a headset than 4K on a television. Camera movement during a shot can make some viewers feel unwell.
In Node XR a 360° video plays with timed stop points, which hold the action and present hotspots until the learner responds.
