Software that lets an organisation enrol, configure, update, secure and monitor a fleet of devices, including VR headsets, from one central console.
An MDM tool can push apps and settings, configure Wi-Fi and kiosk mode, schedule updates, locate devices and wipe lost ones. Headset fleets are often managed with XR-specific tools, because general phone MDM products may not support headset features.
Without it, every headset has to be set up by hand, which quickly becomes a burden across sites. IT and information governance teams will usually ask how headsets are enrolled, updated and wiped before approving a deployment.
