Manikin
Also known as mannequin · simulation manikin · patient simulator
A life-size model of the human body, or part of it, used in healthcare education to practise clinical and procedural skills without risk to a real patient.
Manikins range from simple part-task trainers for skills such as CPR or cannulation to computer-controlled simulators that reproduce breathing, show vital signs and respond to treatment. Healthcare simulation usually spells the word manikin, to distinguish it from a display mannequin.
Manikins cover something 360° scenarios cannot: practice that needs hands. Node XR's own guidance is explicit that immersive scenarios are not a substitute for manikin work or supervised practice.
